Ok, so it's probably been about a year since I've actually opened commissions. When I have a goal in mind, I'm usually pretty good about commissions! I earned that new scanner in a very short time, if I recall. But, I had the help of friends, too X ). Anyhow, I'm going to open up commissions, which I will begin either next week or sometime after I finish up some projects I want to finish for friends, etc.
So why? Well, I'm in between jobs at the moment. Now, that doesn't mean I'm hurting for cash. I've saved up more than enough to keep myself going for quite a while, so that's covered. I need the extra money for art supplies. You'll notice I don't use markers nearly as often! This is about extra money for art and the like.
So, prices, then, hm?
I can do a variety of things for a variety of prices, and I'm more than willing to give your OC or favorite canon character/s a go.
Ink. My work is done with a brush pen, and I'm rather proud of it. The work is good for coloring, of course, but looks pleasant all by its lonesome. The price: $15. This is under the assumption that I will take two hours to complete the picture, so it's $7.50/hour. I think that's more than fair, since it is basically minimum wage. Another character will add an extra $7.50 up to two. The fewer characters I need to work with, the better the results of your picture will be.
Color. I can color in three ways: I can use colored-pencils, ink-markers, or I can give your inked picture to another artist - I have a few contacts, and you certainly have your favorites! - to color in digitally. Or you can color it yourself, of course X D. That's always fun! Colored Pencil: $5 per character - $7.50 for backgrounds plus the character. Markers: $8 per character. The markers are almost $5 a piece, and some of the colors run out very quickly, like golden-rod and orange, which Harriet and Persimmon eat with a voracious appetite! Digital: depends on whomever you go to, or whomever I can contract.
The $15 dollar special! A bust - I'm very good at busts X D. That entails from the chest on up with an emphasis on detail, express, and gags. The 15 dollars includes the coloring of your choice, whether it's marker or pencil. This is probably the easiest for me to do, which is why the price is lower.
So, you can start to contact me at any time with offers - I'd prefer you send me notes - with what you might like. But remember, I won't be starting until next week, when I'm done with other projects.
So how do we know you won't just quit? You have my word that if you mention this journal, and I say that I'll take your commission, that it will get done within three weeks maximum. So, I will open three slots to begin with, and I'll pick whomever I want to work with by this time tomorrow.
Payment: Payment upon completion of a satisfactory sketch that you will get to see before money ever changes hands to ensure quality. You of course have full permission to post whatever I make you, and I'm going to ask for the same unless notified otherwise.
Thank you all for your time, and hopefully your business, and I hope you all have a wonderful day.
I've selected my 4 slot-recipients. I know there were other people who wanted to vie for a spot, but I would have needed some form of note or idea to mull over. Feel free to note me for the advance on the next slots, but for now, these are the four people I'll be working with. Please send me a note to either confirm or reevaluate your ideas. You'll be noted with the sketches before I will ask for any payment, and feel free to keep an open dialogue in case anything new comes to mind or has to be altered.
